ABOUT PROMISE
Hi, I’m Promise Tangeman-Wurzell a Graphic Designer living in Phoenix Arizona with my hubby Brian Wurzell and our adorable new golden doodle puppy, Parker. YES my real name is Promise. haha. I actually get asked that quite often. My mom had a miscarriage before I was born, so my parents felt that is was a promise from God that they had me. People mix that up all the time calling me funny different names like passion, patience, precious, my favorite ones are flower, surprise, and poison. Hahaha. Close, right?
I am the founder and art director of Promise Tangeman Creative, a boutique graphic and web design studio for creative businesses, and also the founder and designer of SiteHouse Designs, a web design shop offering completely customizable website themes thanks to a drag and drop web creating software, called Showit.
As an artistic fashion junky, I grew up loving the arts and expression. Following my love and desire to improve my craft, I attended Northwest College of Art in Poulsbo, Washington where I graduated with a BFA in 2007, double majoring in graphic design and fine art. My work has been featured in Collide Magazine, Kontakt Magazine, and Juxtapose Art and Culture Magazine. Past clients include TLC’s Randy Fenoli, Jedidiah Clothing, Brooke White, Jasmine Star, Catalyst, Phil Wickham, Britt Nicole and many fabulous others.
I have also been a national speaker at Echo conference, The Showit Freedom national Tour, The Pass Premier national Tour and a few others.
ABOUT THE BLOG
This blog was created in 2008 to document and share new design projects, favorite new style finds, inspiration, and everything that comes with living a creative life. Over the years the blog has evolved and been refined as I have grown as a designer and business owner, and I hope to keep it that way. This blog has given me a voice and a means to connect with other artists and creatives in the webishphere and for that I am truly grateful. I found your website after searching for DIY fashion – and although you don’t have much on that (totally not a bad thing but just saying the back story :p ) and I was completely sidetracked by your personal posts!
I’ve had a long road to Christianity, and I just wanted to tell you how inspired I am by reading about how you post up blogs about your faith. It’s amazing and beautiful and I love it – I love the fact that you don’t hide who you are, although I know there are pressures to just not mention that.
If I could ask you for some advice – how did you start off on here? I really want to start up a charity, and because it’s aimed more at women, I thought that online blogging may help me. What are some tips and tricks that you learned on here, and how did you get a readership and the community here started?
