These talented young folks called GIVERS totally caught Brian and my eye/attention the other night when we saw them bringing the heat on the Jimmy Fallon show. We immediately got their album and have been listening to it a whole bunch. UUUUBER talented, fun, dancy and we LOVE their unconventional vibe. WHY I LOVE 31 BITS
The 31 bits girls, their goals, their passion, and creativity have inspired me more than I have been inspired in a LONG TIME!!! The photoshoot (here & here) I did with them really changed me. Its funny how a photoshoot can do that. But it wasn’t actually photoshoot… It was the time I spent with them. I got the chance to hang out with them for the day, ask questions, and listen to their hopes and dreams for this company. AND YOU GUYS, IT’S SERIOUSLY AMAZING!! Their hearts are HUGE and full of fresh inspiration. They are just 5 normal girls that are on this journey… figuring this whole thing out… and stepping forward with faith. And the most amazing and inspiring part is that they are WILDLY SUCCEEDING. At the end of the day I was seriously ready to quit my design job and join the 31 Bits team… doing ANYTHING! Seriously!! I LOVE what I do and that is not something I take lightly. But their dreams are far beyond what my little brain can grasp. And it’s so encouraging.
Each piece of the 31 bits jewelry is handmade by one of 63 women in Uganda, using 100% recycled paper and other local materials. 31 Bits is committed to working with each woman until she has graduated from their program and attained a sustainable means of income within her own community! I am in love with this color scheme and this hand written type on the cover. I LOOOOVE this orange coral. AHH
2// ISLAND SORBET
The last couple of years Costco has had these fruit desserts that are AMAZING!! They are light and fresh but still curb that sweet tooth. And they feel really summery eating them. They have a pretty fun website too. AAANND they are perfect when guests come over because they look really impressive. haha.
3// ORANGE CORAL LIPSTICK
IN LOVE WITH THIS!! My friend Kim persuaded me to buy it the other day. I like to be daring. But I like it sooo much more than I thought I would. I bought mine at MAC and its called Vegas Volt. It’s a shade right between bright orange and pink coral. Its perfect for summer. Plus when I get bronzy skin it will be GOLD!!! SO fun. Read the full story
Molly is one of the funniest people (persons?) I have ever met… And i am soo glad that I met her. Molly and her fiance are getting married in April… And instead of sending “save the dates” on paper snail-mail style, they creatively made this AWESOME video. I just got it in my inbox this morning. Don’t worry i asked her already if i can post this. BUT SERIOUSLY CHECK OUT HOW CUTE this is. I haven’t met Max yet… but I love him already. Such a cute idea.
I THINK I HAVE A GIRL CRUSH!!! WHAT THE HECK!?!??! OMG!!! This girl BLOOOOWWWWSSSSSS me away. I LOOOOVE her! SHE IS ONLY ALMOST 19!!!!! I got introduced to Jayme’s music a few months back and she is KICKIN IT!!! Seriously I love what she is about. Her voice is one of the best I have heard and she is beautiful outside and inside. A WHOLE PACKAGE DEAL!!! I am so excited to see where she will go with her career.
I have been really impressed with the outburst of companies and organizations with BIG HEARTS to help the world. I am really excited about this blog post because I have put together a Christmas Gift giving Guide with companies that not only offer amazing products, but also give back to a charity or great cause too. SO maybe when we are choosing gifts for our loved ones this year… we can consciously choose gifts that also help the world.
