There is nothing I love more than being resourceful. Here is a simple necklace tutorial made out of thrifted finds. It is very fun and perfect for a little added funky flair. PLUS, it looks christmas-y right? You can make it with any color scheme by changing out the beads, and fabric. I did totally make this up… so no hating or judging.. haha. It’s just for fun. The items you will need are shown above: Strips of fabric, beads, yarn or string, and shower curtain rings. I displayed yarn AND string… but in this example I just chose to use the yarn.
These are just simple shower cutain rings that i found in the home section at savers. I was just walking by and felt the need to make something with them. They are pretty useful because they are sturdy, and they have that connecting point.. So you can link them together.
Cut strips of your favorite fabric OR cut up an old blouse or T-shirt. Wrap the material around the curtain ring and secure it by winding the yarn around and tying it off.
The finished ring should look like the one above. Now before you wind fabric around more rings make sure you link them together. Then string the beads through the rings to create a complete circle.
After you have connected everything. Then you need to finish it off by winding more fabric around the rings and tying it off with yarn. Just for fun i did a whole curtain ring just with yarn. THATS IT!! You are done. Wasn’t that SUPER easy?
What do you think? Does that look do-able and wear-able? I would love to hear your thoughts… Or link to some other online DIY projects that you like. I would love to see those. DIY are sooo fun.
