I am really excited to write this post because the Art for Huruma t-shirts came is as well as the poster prints. You guys have been very patient with us through the ordering and receiving process and we are very grateful. We were able to send most of the money raised to Huruma because we were taking orders and shipping them out all on our own….. which obviously takes time. haha.

My most favorite thing about being an artist is seeing the final product printed and finished. OH MY GOODNESS it is a wonderful feeling…. almost as good as a paycheck. haha. It is like the birth of a dream.. and now our ideas and creations are a reality not just a thought anymore. SOOO FUN! I took some photos as everything was unpacked. I even tried on and modeled the t-shirt for you. And i took a few photos of Brian in the T-shirt as well. He is looking studly… i know. hhaa.

I am very pleased with how everything came out. It is all thanks to INVartistnetwork. In your package you will receive some info goodies from INVartistnetwork.

Because the artwork came out so great, and because INVartistnetwork was so wonderful to work with.. stay tuned for an indepth post on how you can partner and contribute to what they have going on. I cant wait to tell you about it. I think this is a great organization and opportunity for artists.

So what do you think? excited to receive your t-shirt? Some of you have already received your poster prints. Thank you so much for supporting Huruma. I also have more posts coming up on the orphanage in Huruma.

    Hi Promise!

I stumbled upon your site some months ago and never bothered commenting. But deep down in my gut, I knew there was a more divine reason, rather than random stumbling.

My name is Catherine and I’m a 23 year old student, hoping to finish (soon! I know I’m too old to be still a student) with my degree in graphic design. I have a bit of free lance going on, nothing big tho. Back to the divine reason rather than me rambling about me; I was born and raised in the Philippines and with the tragic floods that just recently happened, I was thinking of ways that I can help out. Not having much money and and really wracking my brain about it, my mind came to your Art For Huruma posters. And geez whirly, I saw a giant light bulb. I have, through church, connections to missionaries who are currently in the Philippines and was thinking of contacting them if they can plan something for the kids in the heavily affected area and the kids who lost their homes and even theirs parents.

So, with your permission, am I able to borrow your brilliant idea to help out those in the Philippines?

I might also bug you/ask for a few (most likely more than a few) advices on how to carry this out.

Thank you so much for being an inspiration!

-catherine (my little “side freelance thing” -emphasis on little- is called dianoia and can’t be found on an a self owned domain cuz i’m waiting till current owner lets it expire next year. hopefully. if not, i’ll just buy something with a different name. /randomness)

hey guys!! Unfortunately ordering was only for the month of august for the t-shirts. We may do another run a little later if others still want one. There also might be another chance to order the poster print. We have to see how things play out.

Catherine- thanks so much for sharing your story. I am soo excited that this project inspired you. i cant wait to see how your project comes out. Please share the process and let us know where to purchase. I also can’t wait for your site to publish. SOOO EXCITED! Thanks for having a BIG heart for others. :)

Hey Promise…Great job! What an awesome and creative way to help make money. How would I go about getting involved in doing something like this? I looked on the INVartistnetwork web site but it only has a link to upload images…is this how you were discovered? Do they except any picture. Hmmm…there are no clear directions. Can you elaborate any? Thanks so much!! Jessica

  12. promisetangeman Says:

Hey jessica, we partnered with victor at INVartistnetwork in a little different way… then they normally would do it. I just posted a post about them this morning here: http://promisetangemanblog.com/inspire/invartistnetwork i hope this helps. :)

[...] 6. ART FOR HURUMA PROJECT W/ BARTON DAMER: I loved this collaboration project with Barton Damer. He is seriously a solid, organized, and talented dude.  This was my first experience collaborating with another artist at this level. We sold hundreds of products that supported the orphanage we visited in Africa. I can’t wait to do this again soon. Thanks again to INVARTISTNETWORK and COLLIDE MAGAZINE. visit the blog posts HERE and HERE. [...]
