WOOHOOO! My sister is getting married. As the details are getting nailed down it has been fun to see the visuals of all the hard work. The invitation designs are a fun milestone that reminds us that the date and plans are really coming together. They are getting married at Stawberry Farms in California. The wedding is outside and the reception is in a little red barn. HOW CUTE!! Their colors are a teal light blue, and a vintage faded red. Here is the combination that I came up with for their invites. I would love to hear what you think.

These are lovely!
On the light teal lace card.. with the circle and their names..
the ‘M’ is missing from your sister’s last name!
Just thought I’d point that out, just in case!
I love the colors and composition.
I especially love how you made the strawberry look
painted and rustic.
So inspiring!

These are fabulous! Your sister is very lucky to have your design expertise at her disposal! The color combo is actually my very favorite! Just a couple of little things – the third ‘e’ in registered (registered at…) is missing, as is the apostrophe in “I’m there in spirit.” Thanks for sharing your awesome work with us!
September 20th, 2009 at 9:57 pm
I love them! Is it wrong to want to be related to you to get perks like this? Fantastic! I bet the wedding will be truly beautiful!

Awesome use of photography and illustration!! I would love to know what kind of paper you used and how you had it printed.
September 21st, 2009 at 3:28 pm
Hey jessica. I had them printed on a thicker/earthy matte cardstock paper from a printing source online. You just upload the file and they come straight to your door. i hope this helps.

Love the invitations! The teal and red is beautiful- those colors have been very hip lately as well. (Kate Spade china advert and have been popping up in wedding color schemes on the blogs). I love that they look whimsical but professional and deliberate. Your sister is one lucky gal to have such cool invites! Great job once again.

Hi Promise! I love these! I wish I could hire you to design for me! Unfortunately budget doesn’t allow for anything eztra
You are very talented in so many ways! I am trying to upload my own design to overnightprints.com and I am not seeing a product option for flat invitations… Am I missing something lol!? Are the other inserts that you use “postcards”?
October 17th, 2009 at 5:27 pm
hey lisa. i upload everything to the “postcard” section.
hope this helps.
October 20th, 2009 at 7:08 pm
Hi Promise! Love your work…you are quite talented!
My finace is designing our wedding invitations and I noticed that you said you used overnightprints.com and we checked out their site and will probably use them to print our inviations, but we wanted to know a couple things:
1. Do you trust their work and do you feel they use a high quality card stock?
2. Do you prefer to print with a gloss or matte finish?
3. Do you prefer digital press (“Value”) OR offset press printing?
Any advice on these questions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

My mom and I are making strawberry jam for wedding party favors (I’m getting married in Carlsbad CA, known for it’s delicious strawberries and beautiful flower fields)… I was not sure how to do a strawberry-themed wedding without it becoming “cheesy.” These invitations are proof that it can be done! Are they for sale (of course with a little altering to accommadate my fiance and me)?

Interesting stuff! I travelled to England this summer and had my first ever afternoon tea and scones, and it was so delicious I decided to try and make my own last week. I might have broken a few rules though – I found a website full of random scone recipes here and made 6 different kinds! My friends were so happy when I brought them round for tea and scones. Lots of fun!
