ALRIGHT LET ME EXPLAIN ALL OF THIS. I just got done designing our wedding invitations. They are a little different than the normal wedding invitations. Of course right? haaha. O well. CAN WE GET A SPELL CHECKER IN THE HOUSE?? can anyone help?? i am horrible at spelling and grammar and i am getting worse. So help out here if that is your strength. i would greatly appreciate it.

The invitation is going to be a long cardstock invitation front and back. The image on the front will show in the front of the envelope. That is why the front is so plain. CLEAR ENVELOPE BAGS CAN BE MAILED. woohoo. So the front will have twine, feathers, a stamp, and an address of course. When you turn the clear envelope over you will see a collection of the other printed pieces showing though. FUN.
Does that make sense? Below I displayed an example of what the clear bag will look like with items in it. Except it will be larger. The items shown are not the real thing.. I just took our save the date and other materials to show as an example. What do you think?? Any changes? I love your feedback.. as always.

Love it! I don’t see any other spelling/grammar errors.

I love the clear bag, rope and feather. It seems fitting!!

i have been following your blog for a while and LOVE your design.

i haven’t commented yet, on anything, but the plastic envelopes for the invitation are absolutely lovely. amazing!

do you know on your design for the “hitched” invitation? the filigree looking blue background? i was wondering where you got that — did you make it? i’m a design student and i have to do a design project for a “client” who wants a retro look. i love the way the filigree looks but can’t find anywhere?

i totally dig the feather and the twine rope. these are such crazy unique invitation cards.! i can’t wait to see how crazy unique your wedding will be! ah, but that seems like such a long time away… =)

I love it Promise! I also designed my wedding invitations last August and worked with the ‘alternative’ invitation idea, mine were hand torn and folded black parchment with exacto cut corner embellishments over a photo/type montage. I really do enjoy the combination of textures in the design as well as the actual feather and twine textures within the envelope, it makes the whole package feel really personal and out of the ordinary, as I’m sure the wedding will be! excellent work! the clear bag will look awesome with it!

p.s.- as graphic designers, type is image to us and spelling will probably never be our strong suit! but it’s ok! :p

    Promise,

I know I tweeted this too you, but I want to make sure you hear.
I was in class yesterday and we were looking through peoples swap files on the projector and talking about an upcoming project, when, BOOYAH! All of the sudden your invite was on the screen! I was quite surprised. The girl who had it in her file said you were her “favorite designer!” I was so excited, haha. I asked her how she knew of you and she just said the internet. I told her I knew Brian (from the Arise Conferences and Ike and Tam.) It was pretty crazy since I’m all the way in MSP, which is basically the arctic.

So, I offer you that story as encouragement on your journey.

There’s an extra forward slash after the “5″ on the Directions & Accommodations card and Macy’s actually has an apostrophe after the “y” in their name. (Unless of course these are consious design choices.)

The invitations are gorgeous!! I can’t wait for you to post pictures of the wedding.

    Congratulations!
