It has been soo long since I have done a Savers post. wow. Well, I have been at Savers a lot lately… So I thought I would share some of my favorite fashion finds as of lately. haah I bet some of you are going to laugh at me because I am probably breaking some kind of fashion rule with every outfit. But o well. In each picture I display one item that I found at Savers (thrift store). So, It’s not the whole outfit. haha. Although that would be AWESOME!! Maybe I will have to do that sometime soon. very fun. I listed the prices I paid in the little circle for you.
What do you think? Please link to any fun thrift store items that you have found in the last few months… I would LOVE to see. Gosh.. I would seriously LOVE to work as a hunter for fun items and then sell them in my own store somewhere. Or at least get paid to go out shopping for these things. I could do it all day and all night long.

LOVE this. Promise, your style blows me away. I never used to be a thrift shopper, but I’ve found a love for fashion/style in me that I never used to have in the past few months. Now I’m at Value Village at least once a week just browsing. My favourite thing to buy is earrings. (http://jamiedelaineblog.com/index.php/post/510/My-Car-Contained-Countless-Surprises) I LOVE that $6.99 dress you’re wearing. Have you heard of Bleu Bird Vintage? She has her own store and just picks up clothes from different stores and sells them!

As always, love the pictures… love the styling… love the looks

you always find the best pieces! we have so many thrift shoppes here in madison but they get really picked-over due to the high college kid and hipster population, hahaha. question — how long do you spend in savers on an average trip? i find that i need to really commit to being there and rifle through every.single.item in order to find the good stuff. maybe i just don’t have a natural talent for it though like you do!

jamie. you are sooo cute. Someday i hope we get to meet.. SOON. Yes. I LOVE those earings. sooo fun. You can also take them apart and use them on necklaces. That is fun too. and the best part is… THEY ARE SOO CHEAP!
I love miss James from bleubird. She is a doll.

Ooooo… I love the vintage dress! Such a great find! And can I ask you about your black boots? I know that wasnt thrift store, but they’re CUTE!
December 16th, 2009 at 7:14 pm
aww, you always look so cute! i LOVE forever 21. i found some shirts there that i gave my sister (so i don’t have pics of them). one was $3 and the other was $5. i also found a locket necklace for $4!

That last dress is AMAZING and you are gorgeous, love your hair. I haven’t been to the thrift store in months, but now I’m itching to go.

I absolutely love your style! I’m dying over the vintage pattern dress!! It’s fab! I’ve been trying to be more thrifty in my shopping, looking for better deals and making sure I get the most for my money. It’s hard sometimes, but always worth it when you make a great find!

I’m actually doing a goodwill run tonight. I live across from one in a really nice part of town so sometimes the finds are amazing. I love to take my daughter. We have found some of the coolest dresses for school dances. She can wear anything. She even work a 70′s jumpsuit one night for 70′s night at Merge over at Cornerstone. She looked amazing. I think I paid 4 dollars for it.
I like to find fun dishes there as well. Cool colored bowls and unique plates. You just never know what you will find.

Anda- I ALWAYS go with a list of things i am looking for. that helps sooo much and it shortens the time i am there. It really helps to focus my attention. I may spent an hour or two.
Here is an example of a list I would take:
old picture frames
small trinkets to paint
patterned knee length dresses
gold jewelery chains
yarn

Promise! You have to tell me what Savers you go to, because the one I usually go to does not have near as cute as things as this!

December 16th, 2009 at 11:34 pm
You are so thrifty. I walk into a thrift store and see absolutely nothing and you walk out of one of those places with a whole new wardrobe! Skillz. Plus you can pull off the boots.
December 16th, 2009 at 11:55 pm
I LOVE thrifting! I have been doing it on and off since college, like 10 years! I have now got my husband going and he even went the other day by HIMSELF with my son! Book super cheap. He has picked up really great jackets. I thought one had something in it, but it ended up being just a pamphelt from 1980! I thought it was something cool
. Then we got talking to the cashier and he told us a story about someone buying a safe for $30 and there was 14K in it!!!!! And they called the store when they found it. And the cashier said if you leave the store and you bought it, it is yours!!! Crazy huh?

But you have inspired me to continue to look for that tresure!
December 17th, 2009 at 5:52 pm
I adore thrift store shopping. The best thing I ever found were these heels: http://www.flickr.com/photos/sandralynn/4193002951/
They were only $2 and have become my favorite pair!
December 17th, 2009 at 6:33 pm
Seriously, how uniquely stylish are you? I’ve been a silent reader until today.
You’ve got it all- skill, marketing, style, enthusiasm…thank you for the constant inspiration. I like antique stores and flea markets for raggedy old furniture I can reupholster.
December 17th, 2009 at 7:07 pm
I just found your blog last week and I think you are so adorable!! I would love for you to post what you would wear to do a wedding shoot! I know that may sound odd, but I am new to photography and I’ll be doing some weddings. I want to look cute but also be appropriate/professional. I thought you would have some great ideas/advice!
December 17th, 2009 at 8:18 pm
emma, thank you. you are too nice. BUT I am TERRIBLE at managing my calander, responding to emails, and being organized. haha. I think i need an assitant to keep me on track. haha but i am not big time enough for that. haha.
December 18th, 2009 at 5:22 pm
I’m singing you that song “you’re my inspiration!” I love all your thrift store finds and will soon be on my way to hopefully find some good finds of my own!
December 18th, 2009 at 6:21 pm
cute! i LOVE thrift shopping…siiiigh.
December 18th, 2009 at 8:48 pm
Not one dude commented on this, hahahahha! UNTIL NOW!
Unless Jamie is a boy.
If you’re a boy, you’re even more metro than Promise’s husband. And that’s just impressive, because he wears turquoise pants like a champion.
December 19th, 2009 at 7:54 pm
i now want to get off my bum and go do some thrift shopping!
it’s kind of addicting.
December 21st, 2009 at 6:21 pm

January 5th, 2010 at 2:37 pm
oh my gosh… all your girls are to funny. we should all have a thrift store day. and map out all of the best shops and tour the country. …. right??!?!?
January 5th, 2010 at 7:41 pm
I didn’t know Savers was a thrift store! We just moved to Phoenix and I’m seeing them all over but never would have thought to stop. But you’ve got me thinking!!! That patterned dress looks like a once-in-a-lifetime find. Is Savers just a regular thrift store or a charity like Salvation Army or Goodwill?
January 5th, 2010 at 8:28 pm
MJ-thanks for saying HI. Savers is a charity like goodwill. Awesome stuff there… definitely worth a trip
January 13th, 2010 at 9:35 pm
my fav is the vintage pattern dress.
March 11th, 2010 at 9:58 pm
Ugh. If I could dress like that, I would. I feel I can’t being such a curvy girl because I already have a ton going on that all those patterns and cute relaxed style would be super confusing. lol. I love the 4th dress – gold 70′s! I love to shop vintage finds too… I have a whole room devoted to this obsession and I can maybe wear one of every 25 items I find/buy. So sad, but fun when I get to use them on models in shoots. Makes it worth it.
September 5th, 2010 at 4:18 am
I really enjoyed reading your post! I get excited by all things antiques, but in particular engagement rings.
