IPAD CASE: ON THE LOOK OUT

I am on the lookout right now for a fun iPad case. I did a few minutes of perusing the webs and came across a few favorites. I just recently got an iPad for referencing website designs that I create. But that’s kind of all I use it for right now. I have not started using it on a daily basis yet. I really thought I would. So I am thinking that a case for it might help. haha. Good reasoning, right? Haha. Do you have an IPad? And If so, what do you mainly use it for? And what-the-heck Apps do I need to get?!? Also… link in some rad IPad cases in the comment section if you know of any. On the look out!

I love THESE TWO from Madewell. Thinking this is probably the one I will get! The striped are fun, but the bright yellow is CRAZY! Although it might get a bit dirty?!?!

I was really impressed by the look of the quality of THIS ONE! This would be a good choice because my husband uses the iPad as well. And I think this one would last a while. The pockets are a plus. And I love their website too!

THIS ONE is more of a fascination than anything. Really REALLY rad cases. I couldn’t really understand what was going on exactly. This stop motion video does not disappoint. I think it’s really beneficial when companies use video to showcase their product. DONE! Hope you are having a good Wednesday!

L. - You should definitely check out BookBook cases for the iPad. Its a case that looks like an old book & keeps the iPad secure. I use one for mine & absolutely love it.

Shauna - Nubbytwiglet.com - I love Dodo cases. They’re handmade in SF and resemble hardcover books!

For apps, Flipboard is really cool for managing all your social media streams in one place:

Linnea - I got an iPad earlier in the summer so I could show slideshows of my work during client meetings (I’m a wedding photographer). I have also found a daily purpose for it – I stopped using my paper calendar and now use the Calendar app! I agonized over finding the perfect case and finally knew I’d found the one when I saw these Quincy cases by Jess LC: http://www.jesslc.com/collections/small-leather-goods

I love that it is a folio rather than a pocket. I also love the little pockets on the inside cover that I can slot my business cards in… and it zips up!

In terms of must-have apps… I’ve been using these: Kindle (for books & pdfs), Perfect RSS (for blogs!), Flipboard (turns your social media sources into a magazine-style flip book), and Evernote (for all my to-dos & notes).

Hope you’re having the best week!

promisetangeman - Awesome thanks Shauna!! I will check those out!

promisetangeman - Linnea- I will check out the Calandar app. I definitely need to be more on top of that! thanks! and I have heard about flip board… thinking that will change my life. :)

Allison - I bought that top striped one from Baggu for a friend and she loved it! Love the other finds!

Laura - An awesome app is “Paper” for sketching. I LOVE it, it is so much like sketching in a sketchbook, except makes such nice lines! So great for blocking out layout ideas or just outlining drawings/logos. Its the most intuitive app I’ve found, with easy adding and “flipping” pages.

The Adobe Ideas app is pretty good for quick drawing too, but its more like illustrator with your fingers, and Inkpad is even MORE like illustrator with your fingers, but more advanced. You could legit create a vector logo in it. And from inkpad you can save your arwork as SVG or EPS files, and email them…I’ve often started someting on the ipad, emailed it to myself, and then finished it in illustrator.

(summary: Paper, Inkpad, Adobe Ideas)

Mailinh - I don’t have an iPad, but I wanted to concur with Shauna about Flipboard. I have it on my iPhone & love it. My friends who have all things Apple love the app Evernote. Hmmmm….iPad cases…

Lauren - I did use my iPad much until I got one with 3G on it (which I don’t even use all the time-so it doesn’t make sense).

But now I read all my blogs on it with Reeder (love the intuity of this app)
Read books with iBook and Kindle
Amazon for shopping
Chrome is great to use as well instead of Safari, it’s also nice because if you have a google account you can sync passwords, tabs, bookmarks from it to Chrome on a desktop
Catalogs – if you like catalogs you get in the mail – here’s an all digital copy of nearly everything out there
Evernote – if you use it on your phone/desktop
Remote – now you need an Apple TV – especially if you watch videos or digital movies on a television

The other thing I couldn’t live without is my Skinit (another brand is Gelaskin) so my iPad is branded!

Have fun!

Kirsten - Oooh all of these are so cute! I love the first one, the blue stripey one! ADORBES! I got an ipad case a few months ago when Missoni had all of the Target stuff and I bought this one:

I love it so much! The colors are more vibrant in person and I love the brown leather – it feels really good and fits perfectly. I love stripes of any kind and I love these zigzags with the blue and coral with the one bright yellow stripe (and like I said, it is more bright in person) Can’t wait to see which adorable case you get! There is so many cute ones!

Jarka H. - Wow, they´re awesome!

Alison - I want an iPad SOOO bad…I would use it for my portfolio. So easy to show to clients! If someone asks to see my work, just pull out the iPad!

Hannah - Pinterest just came out with their iPad app this week! That will be taking up most of my time… Flipboard is also awesome!

Jordan - My recommendations for iPad cases & accessories: http://milknsugar.com/category/ipad-2/

Patricia - flipboard is a must have ap

Stephanie - They aren’t incredibly convenient when it comes to opening and closing, but I LOVE the aged leather on these cases :)

Bethany - I have a portenzo case (http://shop.portenzo.com) and LOVE it. I especially love that it looks like a sketchbook and got a couple of great styluses (http://www.ifaraday.com/store.html) and (http://www.more-real.com/)

liana - there are a few portfolio apps we use to present our work, it helps when meeting with potential client and showing them the work we have done. it has options to link to the web page and have images of the logo, stationary etc. I forgot the name of the one we use at our office but once i have the iPad in front of me i can check and let you know.

Chelsea - Those are all so cute! Hard to choose!

Kelli Forsythe - Hi all! I own a bag-bz and am wanting to add an ipad case to the collection. We have an ipad satchel–the case would be utilizing the same materials–bright fabrics covered in repurposed industrial netting! With wear, it takes on the look of suede! http://www.thesoulbag.com/satchel.html

I’d love any more design feedback and suggestions for a case for the ipad! (Hopefully I’ll be making some new website changes soon thanks to you Promise!) The above info gives me a good idea of what’s out there.

sabrina - ive always wanted an ipad case… but can never fine a good one.. any thoughts
