SUNDAY, RANDOM SHOW AND TELL?

img_5963coffeeblog

Okay.. i have no idea what i am doing.. haha. but here are a few things to share. I do not consider myself to be an interior decorator by any means, and i do not take it to seriously. This post is just for fun.

This pretty teacup (above) was given to me as a bridesmaids gift from my long time friend Marina who just recently got married. I LOVE it. it makes me feel so specal and elegant when I drink out of it. These pretty papers in the picture are samples that were sent to me from Czar press, a fabulous letterpress company that I am so stoked to work with.

In the hallway in my parents house, my mom framed their wedding invitation. its awesome to look at it now, because its all decked out with seventies embroidery, ribbons, and crochet do-dads. I always loved looking at it as I walked down the hallway. I decided that I wanted to do the same with our wedding invitations. I also added a few more keepsakes in there as well. This one (above) has our formal invitation/envelope, our thank you postcard, and our favors for our guests. There is another one framed.. at the bottom of this post.

Brian and I are STILL getting our home set up… and de-bachelorizing it. HAHA. I recently set up a little workstation. Its not the best looking but its very functional. I took a trip to TJMAXX, and found some treasures. This RAD orange lamp above was about $30. It was a little too short for the corner, so I added some magazines and vintage books that we used in our wedding decor to add a little height. Its simple, it’s clean, its pretty enough, and works great for right now.

I found this killer table at TJMAXX as well. For now i am using it as a desk… But maybe in our next home, down the road, i will be able to use it as a second dining table, or breakfast table or something. I LOVE THIS TABLE. I spotted it, and immediately fell in love. Some of you are prpbably thinking i am crazy.. my husband Brian for sure did. He said he trusted me, but just didnt have vision for it like it did. hhaa.

This table looks like a garage work bench. and thats why I LOVE IT. It has this metal frame that goes all the way across the floor and up to the top connecting the table top. There is a thick piece of wood bolted down, painted a messy white, and completed with a shine finish.

One of my favorite things is that the white paint is painted all over the metal frame legs. I KNOW that we could have made this table… BUT i just dont know when that ever would have happened. I could totally see this table working as a dining table in a lofty appartment in the city with concrete floors, some mix match chairs, and an earthy flower vase to top it off.

Last but not least is the other invitation frame. This frame contains all the print pieces that were inside the wedding invitation, a little fabric sample from my wedding dress (made into a fabric flower), and Brian’s handmade boutineer with burlap.

Enjoyed this little meaningless tour? haha. I would love to hear your thoughts… LINK BACK WITH A SHOW AND TELL POST OF YOUR OWN. i would love to see it. so fun

I do confess that I didn’t see what you saw in that table, but, I really like it. You’re a work of art! Hopefully, my eyes will get better over the years. LOVE YOU!

Ah! I love that table! You should look at my refurbishit post. My husband had no faith in my little computer desk either when I told him my vision but now he loves it.
You can’t see because the picture is too small on my blog but I mixed a metallic gold acrylic paint with water and lightly brushed it over my desk when I was all done. Really added a worn rustic look.
AND I’m jealous of your teacup. Mugs were one of my last 5 things I love.
AND totally stealing your idea to frame our wedding invites with some keepsakes. We hand made our own invites at home, cut the paper, spray glued and everything, so they are pretty special to me.
