I was invited to do a small photoshoot with Kate in the play room yesterday (the day before her surgery). I have been talking about this story all week, but if for some reason you missed it, read it here. Brian and I had such a blast with the family, the siblings and just PLAYING!! She is a little girl that LOVES to play. Hopefully brian will edit some more video. Please keep her in your prayers and thoughts today as she is in surgery. Isn’t she beautiful? She painted a beautiful painting that I was so proud of. She rocked it up!! I am very thankful that i had ANYTHING to offer this family this week.
This is a message from her mom a few minutes ago:
Kate is in surgery. It will take an hour to put all of the central and arterial lines in before they even start the craniotomy. We don’t have words. They had to take her out of my arms and I heard her crying mommy. I couldn’t take it. No five year old should walk this road. I wispered in her ear before they took her how much her daddy and I loved her and that Jesus would be with her the whole time. We told her to be a fighter. She said she was scared. My baby is scared. So are we. Desperately scared. We have never hurt like this. So please pray for her, have faith for us right now. We are scared and hurting. to go kate’s caring page

Beautiful pictures. I can say first hand that this special gift you gave them yesterday,meant more to them than you will ever realize. Brian and you are an amazing couple and we love you dearly. Our family is praying so much for this family right now. We’ve been there and understand all of their emotions.

Praying in the strong name of Jesus–wisdom as the Dr.’s determine course of surgery (even as they are in the midst); peace brought from the Holy Spirit to all those who love Kate and are there waiting as the surgery proceeds; grace demonstrated through the tangible hands, feet, words, and comfort of loved ones and complete strangers (local and cyber); HOPE, I pray Christ will be the anchor of hope which is strong, sure, and trustworthy. May Kate’s siblings know an even greater measure of all these things.

Remembering you and yours in fervent prayer. I’m a mother of five sons – oldest a 26 yr. old Army Special Forces soldier – due to return to a 13 mo tour mid August. I am amazed and brought to tears by this story. I believe in the power of prayer and I also believe in the power of photography like this and no matter what, these parents will have these beautiful images of their little girl and family. You are incredibly talented. Your photography is exactly what I imagine if I ever have the opportunity to do this as a career or even continue as a hobby but with more investment. I love it. Thanks for your generosity for this family and like the others, I hope and pray that this story has a very happy ending.

I have just learned of sweet Kate’s dreadful journey. It is so hard trying to understand why a child would be faced with such a large burden. There is no understanding it, just relying on God and trusting that He is in control and has a plan greater than we could ever comprehend. I believe that He is holding Kate in His loving arms, and her family as well. My heart goes out to this family and they will be remembered in my every prayer. God bless the McRaes’ and especially sweet little Kate.

My thoughts and prayers are with you… I REALLY know how you feel and how this has turned your world upside down because I went through the same situation with my daughter at her age of 6…. The doctors did not even give us hope that I would bring my daughter home from the hospital… My daughter Amy was sooooo sick and this was in the late 70′s …. Her tumor was wrapped around her spine and they could only remove 50% of her tumor….Amy had to learn to walk,talk and everything all over…. Amy’s younger sister was soooo lost along with us…. Our family was totally spinning out of knowing what will tomorrow bring????…I lived at the hospital, slept under her bed and I breathed for her…… I was afraid of leaving her alone so I never did…. My marriage fell apart after I finally was able to bring Amy home……. But the best news to you is, I have my beautiful daughter today… She is 35 with 2 beautiful children….. Prayers are answered…..
