THE EASIEST DIY PROJECT EVER!! fabric wall art

img_8614editblog

This project actually happened on accident. I originally bought this black frame at ikea. They have them pretty cheap there. I brought it home to frame another project.. Anyway, that didn’t end up working out and the frame didnt come with glass. I was going to take it back until i saw a pile off fabric in my craft area waiting to be cleaned up. So this is what i came up with at last minute. I am sure this must have been done before. It just must have.. its soo easy. ITS SUPER EASY!!! Any sloppy bumbler could do it.

Find some fun fabric that you love. Either from your giveaway clothes pile, or even some you bought at a farbic store. I also used yarn to add a bit of rustic detail. Cut the fabric into strips… whatever size. They don’t have to have finished edges or anything.. It can be cut really sloppy. I actually think that “look” works for this. I obviously didn’t consider what fabric to pair together, haha. I didn’t really care. I just used what I had around the house.

THIS IS SO EASY!! Leave enough room in the fabric to tie around the backing of the frame. Tie knots with each stip of fabric that you use. I wound the yarn around the backing and then tied it as well.

This frame had those little metal bendy things. I bent all of them down to secure the fabric and the backing of the frame.

Pull all of the knots tight and make sure everything on the front is pulled tight and secured. Then turn it around and hang it up.

I really like this technique because its a really easy cheap way to spruce up a room on a large scale. and when your room changes you can change out the fabric and create a new wall hanging to match.

Dont laugh at our house.. It’s still a work in progress. Creating a home is a lot of work. haha Can you spot our pink horse? jk.

HOW EASY IS THAT? Do you think you will try it? Let me know if you do.. or will. Have fun

p.s. i was SERIOUSLY channeling my inner Promise to do an art journal page…as part of my study in the book of revelation…i mostly used paint and grunged it up a bit..it was a bit of a stretch, but your work inspired me to go there. :) when i post it, i’ll link you up. ;)

Promise – I’m doing a “precept upon precept” inductive study…it’s pretty in depth, but I am loving it….if you do start studying revelation, you can check out this playlist i made for my quiet time of worship….focuses all on His coming, His glory and our desire to see and know Him. I heart worship! (http://www.playlist.com/playlist/19137160715/standalone)

Hey Promise, I love it! My whole house is a work in progress, and is on a tight budget so I’m forced to be more creative to fit into the guidelines of our budget. This is really a blessing in disguise because that is when I become more creative to fill in the gaps. I’ll have to send you pix of my projects sometime when I have taken pix. Keep up the inspiring work. U Rock!!

THIS IS THE PERFECT IDEA! I am SOOOO going to do some second hand shopping, find some fabrics that have similar colors, and go wild! Ill letcha know how it turns out =) Thanks for the idea Promise. You are a creative genius.

This inspired me to take some old t-shirts that had great graphics and frame the graphic portion of the t-shirt. Just tied the excess of the t-shirt in a knot at the back. Fun to do, adds a great touch to our home… my husband really digs it!
