FREEDOM TOUR 2010 RECAP

Hey everyone!! I am back to the grind this week and I wanted to give you some highlights from the ShowIt Freedom Tour 2010! WOOHOO!! It was awesome.

First things first, I’m extremely grateful for the great family and friends I have in my life that challenge me, connect me, and encourage me to go do what I was made to do! A couple years ago my brother in law Troy Grover encouraged me to email David Jay, CEO of Showit, about a few questions about their software. And from there… It has been so fun connecting and being a part of the showit community. A big thank you to the Grovers.

DJ and the gang at ShowIt asked me to come out on their tour to talk to the Photographers at these events about their ‘branding’. You can read the post about that HERE. I talked about how to Vibe-It (make your brand unique to you), Tweak-It (how to know when you need to tweak or rebrand your identity) and Rock-It (this part had to do with how to implement some of the concepts of vibing and tweaking the brand identity using ShowIt!). A lot of the concepts I spoke about were concepts that I use in my business with my clients as I help them figure out their brand identity. I love to see people get excited and inspired about their own business.

I started speaking on the Tour during the Phoenix, AZ stop. It was a fun setting in a super cool house up against South Mountain in Phoenix. I was pretty nervous to speak in front of a hometown crowd and to be in front of quite a few familiar faces giving a presentation I’d never delivered publicly. That night in Phoenix was pretty special in my little journey!

After we finished in Phoenix we loaded up on a 45 foot Tour Bus that we would call home for the next 8 days. On the bus that night was David Jay, Andrew Barlow, Jim Davis-Hicks, Molly Jenson, myself and my husband Brian. We hung out in the front lounge of the bus talking until our eyes were red and felt like sandpaper. It kind of became a tradition to just hang out and be together after each night, so fun. We cruised on to Austin, Texas inside this little silver missile, that we called a bus, and slept in BEDS on the road. Sleeping on the road has it challenges, but, it was always so interesting to go to sleep in one state and wake up at the next venue in another state. It was easy to become delirious to where you were pretty quickly. HAHA.

It was fun being out on the road with the some pretty smart industry people who really understand their craft and business. It was so encouraging to be around experienced and credible people who are doing what they love really well.

MOLLY JENSON
Molly did an INCREDIBLE job as the entertainment for the tour stops. She is HILARIOUSLY funny. And she would always “feel out” the crowd for all of us and give them a thumbs up or a thumbs down depending of if they laughed at her jokes. haha. if you havn’t checked out her stuff yet you need to. She is located in San Diego. MOLLYJENSON.COM

DAVID JAY
Dj is a seriously smart business marketer, artist, dreamer, and entrepreneur who has a really BIG heart. Brian and I have really enjoyed getting to know Dj a little more in the past few months. He is a wealth of knowledge and a really good hang too. On of his inspirational nuggets on tour was “conversations are the future of marketing”. Isn’t that so true? I am deeply thankful for his encouragement and input into my life and my career.

JIM DAVIS HICKS
Jim is an AMAZING dude with a GREAT mission. I really admire Jim’s Go Get it attitude and ability to go after what God has put on his heart. Jim is doing a lot of great things, one being Thirst Relief International. Thirst Relief International “is responding to the worldwide water crisis by helping thousands of families each year gain access to safe water through simple, low-cost means.” More than 1.1 billion people in our world lack access to safe drinking water… and Thirst Relief is making a difference in the world one project at a time. Check out the Website HERE, or make a donation HERE.

Jim also created the COOLEST software to help you save time and get your life back from editing a bazillion photos. Its called Action Runner. Every purchase of actionrunner provides three people with access to a lifetime supply of clean drinking water through Thirst Relief International. Like how all of this is linking together?!?! ME TOO!! What a brilliant concept.

THE BOUDOIR DIVAS
These Boudoir Diva girls really blew me away. I immediately felt a kindred spirit vibe from them since day one. They are passionate, motivated, driven with purpose and they understand the greater picture. I love their quirky out of the box mentality and their passion to help normal everyday women feel beautiful for their husbands. They really inspired me to dream about my business model and envision my life with more freedom in it. Through their business journey they have said no to some KILLER opportunities for the exchange of freedom and fulfillment in their lives. I really look up to the boundaries they have set for their business and the spirit in which they lead their company with. THEY ROCK!!

RON DAWSON
Ron is seriously the smartest guy i know. SERIOUSLY. He was even orally correcting my mumble jumble at times. haha. I really need that in my life. I real life editor. haha. Ron is a really talented videographer, that is changing the world using emotion in video. He is the founder of Dare Dreamer Media. Dare Dreamer is a “social media and video production agency that specializes in partnering with worthy causes. We use our God-given gifts as storytellers to inspire, encourage, and move our clients’ audiences to improve their lives and better the community. We want nothing less than to change the world.” I love what they are about. Their videos are really inspiring and they really are changing the world.
