Hey. Im on my way home to AZ from Seattle. I have a really fun collaborative idea project coming up for all of you to participate in. I need to know 2 things first. Do you consider youself an artist or creative person? And do you have an online shop or etsy store? OR do you have access to one? Please leave a comment in the comment section letting me know. Thanks so much.

I’m creative & love Etsy. I don’t have an “online shop” but can easily make one. I’m not sure you/what you’re looking for, but I’m always game. You are amazing
February 19th, 2010 at 6:42 pm
Yea, and yes but no one every bought my scarves and I’ve only checked on it once. So I guess I don’t have great marketing or business skills : /
February 19th, 2010 at 6:45 pm
Love your blog! I check it almost everyday!
I am definitely an artist! I enjoy painting, photography, designing, sewing, crafting…anything I can do that is hands on is peachy keen! I have a little Etsy store, mainly photography and a few art pieces. I am in process of making some more crafty things to sell as well. Here is the link to my store:

Thanks for being such an inspiration!!!
February 19th, 2010 at 6:47 pm
thanks you guys.
i am really excited. keep them coming.
February 19th, 2010 at 6:48 pm
I have always considered myself to be a creative person and have tried my hand at an Etsy shop. Problem was I didn’t stay true to my creativity and didn’t sell a thing. I plan on opening up one again soon to feature a new photo series I’m working on.
Love your work!
February 19th, 2010 at 6:49 pm
oh… NICOLE!!! CUTE shop. i love prints.
February 19th, 2010 at 6:51 pm
Thanks Promise!
February 19th, 2010 at 7:03 pm
I consider myself a creative person. I photograph art, but I consider my mom (dancer performer) and dad (painter) more of an artist then me. I just opened my etsy shop, not sure what to do with it now, still figuring all this out. here it is: http://www.etsy.com/shop/honeybirdshop
February 19th, 2010 at 7:09 pm
I do consider myself an artist and a creative person
and I do have an etsy
February 19th, 2010 at 7:14 pm
I am an artist in whatever way it can manifest itself and do have an Etsy store which I have yet to use as all my transactions have been run on a personal basis. However, I would be more than pleased to begin using it if the need were to arise.
I am so amped to hear more about this collaborative project:)
Cheers!
February 19th, 2010 at 7:15 pm
I have a website but have never loaded products into it – I much rather use Etsy
I love Etsy and instead of browsing magazines – I browse Etsy
I’m floored with the talent there!
February 19th, 2010 at 7:16 pm
I have a shop
http://www.etsy.com/shop/dreamsofeden (and I just realized it is woefully understocked. Gotta fix that this weekend
)
February 19th, 2010 at 7:18 pm
Yes to the creative bit, but no to the online shop bit
February 19th, 2010 at 7:20 pm
i am still putting mine together as we speak! excited to start selling my jewelry, scarves, and artwork. my cousin just started her own line of hair clips on etsy. super cute! found here: http://www.etsy.com/shop/raynajaye
February 19th, 2010 at 7:20 pm
Hey Promise,
I like the sound of the wheels spinning in your head. Whatever it is you are coming up with you can count me in.
I am both a visual artist and an Etsy online shop owner. (http://www.etsy.com/shop/morebeautifulstore)
February 19th, 2010 at 7:37 pm
My friend is super creative and just opened an etsy shop last week. I’m excited for her to put more of her stuff up and share it with the world
She would be interested!!!

I love your photos
Collaborative projects are always fun!

i am creative/artist… i do not have an etsy sight but love to shop on it…. my friends tell me i should have a shop but i just haven’t done it yet. I am very excited to hear about what you have in the works
February 19th, 2010 at 8:36 pm
I would say creative rather than an artist. And yes, I have an Etsy shop. http://www.juliaspoppies.etsy.com/
I’m curious what you’re planning!
February 19th, 2010 at 8:37 pm
Yes creative, no to the shop, have recently been considering the possibility.
February 19th, 2010 at 8:46 pm
I consider myself creative & an artist both.
I also have an etsy where I sell things that I knit; I’m thinking of switching to bigcartel though…
My etsy is veryloveleigh.blogspot.com
February 19th, 2010 at 9:04 pm
I’m an artist. I’m creative. Love etsy. Doin’ a fun gift exchange with my sister via etsy in March. She picks out some fun shops she likes via etsy, then I do the same. Then we purchase a gift for eachother based upon the findings each other supplied.
February 19th, 2010 at 9:21 pm
Well that is a very tricky question
I would have to say both…I am creative and would love to be more arsty…having a tangible product or piece. For now, I need all my creative juices for my home and children. My husbands business allows me to somewhat be artsy through his projects that we collaborate on together.
What are u up to, girlie????
Look forward to whatever it is.
Love
Colleen

February 19th, 2010 at 10:14 pm
I’m intrigued as to what is on your mind …
I used to have an etsy store, but things sold more in person rather than online. I have started posting a few of my jewellery pieces on my blog, and when I have enough I want to put them on etsy.
At the moment I am working on a line of blue jewellery for brides.
I think people would consider me an artist. I must make things or I go crazy. I must paint, build, decorate, produce, colour, photograph, design … it goes on.
Can’t wait to see/hear more!
February 19th, 2010 at 10:16 pm
i do! i do! oh wait. you already knew that.

February 20th, 2010 at 4:10 am
Oooh fun! I just started a shop with my friend where we sell treasures we find at garage sales, thrift stores, and flea markets. I am a photography student, and shooting the photos of our products is what I am doing for my senior project (awesome right
?!)… so I set up another shop to sell prints of my photos.

Yes, I consider myself creative and I do have an onlineshop, though it’s not really successful yet.
The shop: http://de.dawanda.com/shop/kleinewunder
(I prefer selling at Dawanda, because many, many German artists are there and I’d like to meet some and contribute to nice stuff.)
February 20th, 2010 at 5:16 am
how exciting! i’d definitely consider myself a creative person. an artist? don’t think i’m quite there yet… i am new to the etsy thing and i’m blown away by it ;D! also, i love shopping online in general but i do not own a store.

Yes, I consider myself and artist/creative person. I am a painter, designer, crafter… I love repurposing the odd, the old, and even the ordinary into new life. I have an etsy account and plan on selling from it soon. But first I’d like to redesign it to cordinated with my website I’m designing.
I am however curious to hear what your idea is. Collaborating is fun.

I am a full time artist (jewelry designer) with an etsy shop… not sure if there is a distinction between being an artist & being creative! They rather go hand in hand

February 21st, 2010 at 2:41 pm
i think i am a creative person. i have an online shop, but i don’t share my creative pursuits there. i keep those kind of private, like my own secrets;) i’ve been thinking of opening one up though, just dedicated to the art i make.

I’m new to your blog! I don’t even know how I got here, but I’m glad I did – that’s all that matters!
I consider myself an artist, and a creative person. I can say both right? I have a wonderfully neglected etsy store at lexyart.etsy.com – am going to re-launch it with a new name in a few months and get serious about it this time!!
I know I get cranky if I haven’t been able to create some kind of artwork in a certain time period (like now!), so that must make me an artist
February 22nd, 2010 at 8:05 am
I’m into many different creative disciplines and I recently branched out into fabric flower making. Part of the story is on the blog. The etsy store isn’t up and running yet but will be by the end of next week
Dunno what you have planned but it sounds really exciting.
February 22nd, 2010 at 10:49 am
since i have an etsy shop, i can honestly say- yes i am an artist!!! hehe i have a career in the medical field so art is not my full time job, so i tend to have some reservations about saying im an artist!! i love all things creative, i sew, paint, collage, decorate. ive only had items in my shop for a few weeks, i love it!
February 22nd, 2010 at 12:54 pm
Promise-
Yep… that is usually one of the first 3 words people use when describing me. Creativity drives my soul!! It wasn’t until I started blogging that I realized HOW many creative people there are out there.
Do you ever feel overwhelmed with your creativity? I do! I want to do everything and anything. My focus is my photography, but right now I’m planning my fiance and I’s wedding!
I opened up an Etsy shop with my hair accessories and ended up selling more in person! Haha. I also included my graphic design in my shop to do Vector graphics:
http://eideticandy.etsy.com/
Though my drive is in photography and will be in over-drive after the wedding. And after Spain
P.s. We might be moving to Arizona!!! I’m finding out Wednesday the offer they’ll make my fiance
February 22nd, 2010 at 6:34 pm

I think you are a stunning artist, and I LOVE how much I am inspired by what you do! Thank you! It isn’t much, but I’ve JUST started my Etsy shop at http://www.mhrepurposed.etsy.com I’m hoping to get more than just notecards up at some point soon! Have a great week!

But I do have an Etsy shop that keeps me busy:

I am a very creative person but don’t feel awesome enough to call myself an artist! I’ve never taken a class or been taught anything about it, but I just do what I feel! I have an etsy store : )
http://www.etsy.com/shop/lottiesheart
and at least 10% of it’s proceeds go to the blood:water mission!
February 27th, 2010 at 12:07 pm
Hi Promise, I found your site/blog through Jasmine Star and I’ve been hooked ever since! I am a creative person wanting desperately to have the courage to call myself an artist.
I love making things and have an Etsy shop but the problem is that every time I make something, I want to keep it so I’ve been really slow listing new items… especially since I got married last year (huge distraction)!
Anyway, here is my shop: http://www.ellesy.etsy.com

Aww. I just discovered your lovely blog through Elsie’s! Such adorableness!
I consider myself creative, but most days I tend to think I’m not creative enough. I do, however, have a shop here: http://www.etsy.com/shop/liftedindustries
I’m afraid it’s a little barren at the moment. I’ve been quite busy moving.
New things will be there soon, as soon as I shoot them!

I started my Etsy shop to consume some of my downtime after having my daughter almost 8 months ago. I have always loved to “DIY” but ever since getting married and becoming a mom I went out of control. I love what I make and am always looking for more inspiration!
My husband Josh is a friend of your husband and told me about this post. Here is my reply!
March 23rd, 2010 at 8:06 pm
I really love your blog, who needs a website? Really nice design.
I consider myself an artist and always loved to take already made things, take them apart and remake them into something new.
I just started last year on my Etsy shop called Hard Elements: http://www.etsy.com/shop/dittot. Had a few sales but still trying to find time Facebook, build a blog, fan page, tweet what ever else is out there but unfortunately, I also work a full time and have a six year old so finding time is between every millisecond.
I love to design jewelry and accessories so I will make time and hopefully some day that will be my full time job. Thanks for listening!
June 3rd, 2010 at 5:29 pm
hello,
My brother and I have an Etsy shop. I consider us creatives. I’m an architect and I’m graduated in an art school, Andrea -my brother- works on audiovisual productions. We have an Etsy shop where we sell shoes designed by our father in 70s and 80s. we don’t keep this shop for money but to hand out these models in the world. We think that past design was made from people and now it was made only from market research. So we think that past clothes design looked up to customers best and it was made to ameliorate the society, now it isn’t so anymore.

I am creative! I thrive on being creative and feel kind of lost if I don’t have my hands in something! Before I started making jewelry I was a pastry chef. I am curious as to what you are planning…

Hi there…good luck with your project. I am a creative Fashion Designer…I do have an etsy shop…actually 2 of them.
However….I consider myself an artist….of sorts.
It takes both creative process and skill….although an inherent one.
It would be difficult for me to separate the 2 terms. In Fashion Design…there is also the quandary over whether you are an “Emerging” or an “Independent” Designer!
Hope you get a lot of interesting material!
Thanks!
