This is such a fun interview. You will fall in love with Beth Jones after this post. I have been following Beth’s work for about a year now. My mom actually introduced me to Beth’s site  BJONESSTYLE.COM after she saved an article that was written about Beth and Biola University. I logged onto her site and LOVED what was going on! She posts videos, daily personal fashion and is cultivating a great online community. Beth is so inspiring with her life, her outlook, her fashion, and her passion for her career. PLUS- check out the last outfit in this post!! MY ALL TIME FAVORITE!! haha… would you guess?

1. tell us a little bit about what you do and also your involvement with quicksilver.
I am a personal stylist working with women to develop their own signature style. I live in a very affluent area where there is a “socialite” crowd.

At Quiksilver, I work with their women’s line as the Online Fashion Editor. This entails writing their fashion blog and continually come up with crazy and inventive ways to bring the brand to the online consumer. I created the “Getting Dress with Quiksilver Women” Series that featured three New York women, their personal style and showcased how they would wear the Quiksilver Fall 09 collection. We are about the launch the “Getting Dressed: Holiday Revamp” Series that showcases and California girl getting a vamped up look for the Holidays. It is very fulfilling seeing my ideas come to life! I also do fashion writing and editorial styling.

2. what was the moment you realized you wanted to do this for a living?
I don’t know if there was one moment, but I have always been drawn to doing something creative. Fashion became more a reality in my mind when I moved to California. Back in 2007, I was working in the corporate world and felt sick that I wasn’t doing what I loved. I just decided then and there that I wouldn’t settle.. I was going to go after it. Everything kind of snowballed from there.

3. what are your top 3 vintage/thrift store tips for us?
As you look at magazines, blogs and anything inspirational – make a list of things you want to look for. Then reference your list when you go in a thrift store. It gives you more direction and helps you sort through all the junk. Find a great vintage shop that carries amazing quality vintage. Be willing to invest in pieces that are a bit more pricey if they are things you would love to pass on to your daughter one day. Be patient. Sifting through the racks can often be overwhelming.. but there are treasures in store.

4. How do you define success in your career?
Loving what I do, even when it is tough. Leaving a job and being energized by producing something creative.

5. has your faith been any kind of an obstacle with your success in the this industry?
My faith if anything has been the reason for my success in this industry. I have continually given it over to the Lord, because I know I can’t do it alone, and He is the one that continues to open doors. If He shuts them one day.. I will know it is for good. He has plans to prosper me, and that gives me hope!

6. The hot question for all the married ladies is always “when are you going to have kids?”….. so do you plan to have kids and if so, how will you balance kids with your career? Big question in my circle of friends..for I am the only one without a baby or one in the oven. My husband and I have wrestled with this issue over and over and we really feel like the Lord will prompt us when the time is right, which could be in 6 months or 5 years.. who knows. We are trusting Him.

One reason we are excited about my personal styling business is that it is something I can do when I have kids.. which is great!

wow, great interview..i just recently ran into your blog so just starting to surf it and so far i love what i see.

i have to say it’s nice to hear the stories of those who are walking with the Lord in the art world..i have so much to say on the subject but don’t want to make this the longest comment ever!

but for the girl above and others God is good…prayer, the pursuit of dreams and hard work definitely is the key ingredient in achieving any goals…as a single mom who always wanted to work in fashion since the age of 14, i never thought i could achieve it but i did and i am thankful to him that i have a awesome kid, the career that i wanted and much more then i can have ever asked him ;) ..don’t give up

I love all the photos that are on here, I love to see a woman rocking it in the fashion department and giving the praise of her success to the Lord. I love Beth’s hair, we have similar blonde curly hair (and I’m coveting her looks) I also love that we share the same name…and I think I just declared Beth Moore as a style icon.

I love the high wasted jeans, shorts and skirts… so fabulous.
