THIS POST IS FOR ALL YOU FASHION DIVAS. These last couple of years i have been traveling A TON!! My old packing technique was literally THROW a ton of stuff in and hope something works out when I get to my destination. Haha. Obviously I have learned that packing light is key, being organized makes the whole trip easier, and planning outfits ahead of time prevents a lot of headache and saves room.
My fashionable internet friend Beth Jones (check out my interview with her HERE) just created a product that I am LOVING and it helps me pack and stay organized. This can be used in so many ways… but it works great for my traveling schedule. IT’s called Stylit and it’s a fashion inspiration and planning notebook that you can throw in your bag or purse and GO!! I think this would be such a fun christmas present for your sister or fashionable friends.

THINGS I LOVE ABOUT STYLIT. It has:
1. A month at a glance calendar to plan out any big events or days that you want to look extra fashionable.
2. A week at a glance calendar with fashion sketches that you can draw or pencil in your ideas and plan out what you will wear on your trip or event.
3. Season inspiration pages where you can paste magazine clippings in to inspire your fall, winter, spring, or summer look.
4. Fashion challenges, and fun ideas throughout the book. Beth challenges you to get out side of your box and challenge yourself to try something new… like wearing your hair style different everyday for one week. SO FUN!!
I started using the notebook this week and took some fun photos. Check out how i am beginning to use it.
Check out this cute intro video i found for Stylit. Beth shows you how to use it and what you can do with it.
Okay, so… your turn. Do you have any traveling tips? Packing tips? What does that process usually look like for you? I am about to go pack for my trip to Washington for Thanksgiving. Wish me luck.

I love it and want it!
My friend Jody did all the little illustrated ladies inside the book! Her sister, and also a favorite friend of mine, miss Laurel Dailey, has done a lot of traveling with Beth and does photography for her too. Talent AND beauty x 3 people = always incredible products and inspiration

Such a cute idea!
I used to throw in EVERYTHING, thinking I’d wear it all when really I ended up just wearing the basics. So now I travel light – sometimes too light. I’ll find the balance eventually!
I’d like to do the “out-of-the-box” challenge too. Have fun in Washington!

It’s like real life, grown up, paper dolls.
Very cool. I can see that being amazingly helpful when traveling! Usually I pack a list (literally on sticky notes) of all my planned outfits in the suitcase but I almost always lose it somehow.

Love this idea! Becka is right, it is like grown up paper dolls – I loved those!!
Packing tips…I find that rolling things creates more room. For instance, have a few t-shirts – fold them in half, then fold the arms in. You can then stack another one on top but with the arm-end at the bottom (of the bottom t-shirt). I can usually get three or four together, then roll.
I stick socks and panties in shoes – helps to keep them from getting squashed during traveling too! If you have boots, forget it, you can even get rolled t-shirts in there, ha ha!
I bag anything that is liquid or sprays and I try to keep toiletries to only what I can fit in my man case – I got one of those super roomy men’s shaving bags and use that.
I usually pack my outfits together in the sequence I plan on wearing them. So, I get them as I wear them and I don’t have to dig through my bag and wrinkle the rest of what’s in there.
Another thing to think about is taking a picture of your outfits ahead of time. I don’t do this because I always forget but I think if your getting up super early for something and you don’t lay it out the night before this would be helpful.
Hope these tips help! Have a great holiday in Washington!!

I ordered a Stylit last month and love using it. My bf calls it my doodle book.
However, it has made me realize how my sketching skills could use some work, so now I want to take up fashion illustration.
One thing I would do to make packing easier, is to figure out what the weather is going to be for my destination (or get an idea) and then use an Excel spreadsheet to come up with outfits based on the weather and what activities will be going on for a particular day. This helps me know right off the bat what I need to pack and if I want to repeat certains pieces (i.e. jeans or a top), I can structure my outfit planning to minimize what I’m packing.

love this! In high school I would always create my own moodboards for the “looks” i wanted to have going into my freshman through senior years! I’d make collages out of cutouts and glue them to my notebooks. My family and friends thought i was crazy…but now wait till I show them this! LOVE. IT. getting one!
