DIY TEE FOR FALL. GREAT FOR LAYERING.

I am excited to share with you a really fun t-shirt DIY!!! I always love revamping old things… or buying an old used tee at a thrift store. I picked this one out at Goodwill for $1.99 specifically for this project. This is for the girl who likes a hippy/grunge look. I really like this piece because its great for layering. its baggy, cropped, and leaves lots of room to show off the blouse or t-short underneath. OR you can throw a baggy sweater over the top. Perfect for fall. and the best part is this project only took me 15 minutes to make. AND NO sewing is required. TO start this all you need is a t-shirt and a pair of scissors.

WEB DESIGN FOR BROOKE WHITE: american idol

So I have been really excited about this project and I’m so glad I get to show you today. Brooke White is a SUPER talented singer songwriter and such an AWESOME girl. Brooke found me on twitter a while back and asked me to design her a simple landing page for her site. We plan to develop a more in depth site in the future, but we just kept it simple for her re-appearance this coming Wednesday on American Idol. WOOHOOO for BROOKE!!! You may recognize her from the Girls with Glasses Show that I blogged about yesterday. A big thanks to SHOWITFAST.COM for the creative freedom in the software for me to make this site. And a thanks to them for processing it ASAP to go live before her AI appearance. YOU GUYS ROCK!!

You know those projects where you just feel REALLY inspired to create it?!? Well, that was this way for me. Getting to know Brooke, seeing her personality, and then seeing her inspiration images, made my head and heart start spinning with ideas. It’s really refreshing and exciting when the client you work with REALLY gets you, the design process, and totally trusts you. I was UBER inspired for this project and I hope it shows. I told her that if she didn’t like the site then consider it MY new site. haha. SHE LOVED IT! Great for her, great for me, bad for me. hahaha.

This DIY I did was featured on the lovely miss elsie’s blog www.abeautifulmess.typepad.com a few days ago. You may have seen that there, but in case you didn’t here it is. If you LOVE thrifting, vintage, art, and home decor, I think you will LOVE this DIY!! Its a super easy and fun way to make art for your home. I love that it has a past and it is recycled. haha. I have a crush on repurposing everyday household items. Why wouldn’t I??!! They are inexpensive, usable, and right in front of your eyes. I bet you won’t even need to get into the car for this one.

ahhhh. Its soo good to be back from Vegas. I love home. This is a really fun and easy DIY project that I did…it was featured on www.abeautifulmess.typepad.com a few days ago. You may have seen that there, but in case you didnt here it is. I LOVE this project and its so simple.

Don’t freeze trying to pull off those spring looks too early. Make some easy DIY leg warmers from your old sweater pile, and throw them on with a cute sundress. Years ago in High School I would lock myself in my room on snow days tearing up my clothes and sewing them back together again in new ways. It was soo much fun to go back to school with new creations. This DIY was one of my favorite ones from those good old days.

THE EASIEST DIY PROJECT EVER!! fabric wall art

img_8614editblog

This project actually happened on accident. I originally bought this black frame at ikea. They have them pretty cheap there. I brought it home to frame another project.. Anyway, that didn’t end up working out and the frame didnt come with glass. I was going to take it back until i saw a pile off fabric in my craft area waiting to be cleaned up. So this is what i came up with at last minute. I am sure this must have been done before. It just must have.. its soo easy. ITS SUPER EASY!!! Any sloppy bumbler could do it.

Find some fun fabric that you love. Either from your giveaway clothes pile, or even some you bought at a farbic store. I also used yarn to add a bit of rustic detail. Cut the fabric into strips… whatever size. They don’t have to have finished edges or anything.. It can be cut really sloppy. I actually think that “look” works for this. I obviously didn’t consider what fabric to pair together, haha. I didn’t really care. I just used what I had around the house.
