ahhhh. Its soo good to be back from Vegas. I love home. This is a really fun and easy DIY project that I did…it was featured on www.abeautifulmess.typepad.com a few days ago. You may have seen that there, but in case you didnt here it is. I LOVE this project and its so simple.

Don’t freeze trying to pull off those spring looks too early. Make some easy DIY leg warmers from your old sweater pile, and throw them on with a cute sundress. Years ago in High School I would lock myself in my room on snow days tearing up my clothes and sewing them back together again in new ways. It was soo much fun to go back to school with new creations. This DIY was one of my favorite ones from those good old days.

There is nothing I love more than being resourceful. Here is a simple necklace tutorial made out of thrifted finds. It is very fun and perfect for a little added funky flair. PLUS, it looks christmas-y right? You can make it with any color scheme by changing out the beads, and fabric. I did totally make this up… so no hating or judging.. haha. It’s just for fun. The items you will need are shown above: Strips of fabric, beads, yarn or string, and shower curtain rings. I displayed yarn AND string… but in this example I just chose to use the yarn.

Deep down inside of me I have passion beyond belief. There is nothing i can do to release it all at one time. It just builds and builds and builds. Its a passion for art, for culture, for creating, for people, for freedom, for loud music, bright colors, energy, weird sounds, and great opportunity. Its a strong passion that gets tired of waiting to be released. and right now its REALLY TIRED! and i dont know what to do with it.

I am writing this post with no agenda but just to be honest and transparent. This season has been a REALLY creatively dry season for me. And it’s been an extended dry season. I was hoping it would have passed along time ago. hahaha. It’s in these times though, that I realize that i am a true artist.

My husband is Mr. posisitive ALL THE TIME!! He doesn’t have a negitive bone in his body. I dont know how he does it. Everything is just looking UP for him ALL the time. And it’s because he CHOOSES to look up. But trust me, it’s not a hard decision for him, it’s just so natural. He laughs and jokes with me and says “WOW! You are such a true artist. When you are UP you are UP and on top of the world and when you are sad…. you are OH SOOOOO SAD!!! And liFE IS OHHHH SOOOO HAAARD!” hahhaa. It is so true. and I am so thankful that he has the patience to cheer me up EVERYTIME with a silly song, a prayer, or a hard conversation!!

I do not have much time to write…. BUT i wanted to say that we have under-estimated the power of OUR art. Today I have been really encouraged and inspired to continue to search for ways to serve my community and the less fortunate with my art and creativity! We painted a large mural on the wall as one of our work projects.. and i am so excited to show you later how it came out. and I also got the opportunity to teach a photography class to some orphan teenagers! They loved it. Check out this cute video of the Huruma kids welcoming us to their home. They were SCREAMING with excitement.
