When I was in high school I was always destroying my clothes and finding a way to put them back together. This tutorial is something i did a lot of in those days. It is by no means a new thought or a mind blowing technique or anything… but the main appealing thing is its SUPER easy and all that you need is a tee shirt that fits you and a pair of scissors. THATS IT. Here it goes.
0. INGREDIENTS
T-shirt that fits you, & scissors. For this Rocker tee addition i chose a Star Wars tee from the little boys section at Goodwill. Star Wars….. Now thats pushing the edge. hhaha. jk
1. CUT OFF THE ARMS AND NECK
I drew a line on the neckline and also on the sleeves so i would make a clean even cut. then i just cut them off. Save the scraps.

SO…. My friend Alex Evjen from AVE Styles, you know…. is a fashion stylist. Check out some designs I did for her HERE. She came over to my house the other day to get somethings together to style a recent photoshoot I was in. We were going for a boho/hippy/survivor look with lots of layers and colors. She had this brilliant idea to combine my scarfs for a chunky looking neck wrap (which I think was BRILLIANT) I have worn this scarf many other times since that photoshoot. She rocks. I think this idea is awesome if you want to add a whimsical extra layer to your outfit. This is a PERFECT accessory for easing your way into the fall months. Check out how to make your own below.

Hey guys!! I am really excited to let you know that I will be speaking on the Showit national tour in a couple of weeks. ShowIt has asked me to share some branding and marketing strategies for growing your creative photography business. How fun is that? I am seriously stoked to be there to talk about what I am really passionate about. I am a little nervous but I am more excited about talking, connecting, dreaming, and exploring with all of you guys. This will be really fun!! Plus my husband Brian gets to go with me and he is BEYOND STOKED!! He said “I can’t believe my wife is the one taking me on my first bus tour”. hhaha. That’s awesome. And I am so excited that the UBER TALENTED and great friend Molly Jenson will be touring with us as well. She is going to BRING IT!! If you don’t know Molly…get to know her. You might recognize her stellar voice as she’s the featured vocalist on almost all of Jon Foreman‘s (switchfoot) solo EP’s. She’s a legend.

Your new summer hair accessory? Well… mine at least. So fresh and earthy. This is a really easy DIY using items that are probably already in your home.. And thats exactly the way I like it. haha. I am really thrifty and always like to see what I can make with the items that I already have. You can be lazy this summer and just wear plain, simple, and comfortable summer dresses and or bathing suit covers and just throw in a cute hair accessory to spice it up. Okay so here it goes.

I was cleaning out and organizing my new studio when i came across Audrey Assad’s indie album packaging from a few years ago (below). She is an amazingly talented singer/songwriter with a great idea on how to package cds. She just threw it in a paper bag and wrote her title on the front. Whether you are an idie artist that needs a low budget packaging option OR you just like to make mixed cds for your friends this DIY is super fun and easy. Inspired by Audreys idea i exanded on it a little more.

This DIY I did was featured on the lovely miss elsie’s blog www.abeautifulmess.typepad.com a few days ago. You may have seen that there, but in case you didn’t here it is. If you LOVE thrifting, vintage, art, and home decor, I think you will LOVE this DIY!! Its a super easy and fun way to make art for your home. I love that it has a past and it is recycled. haha. I have a crush on repurposing everyday household items. Why wouldn’t I??!! They are inexpensive, usable, and right in front of your eyes. I bet you won’t even need to get into the car for this one.

This project actually happened on accident. I originally bought this black frame at ikea. They have them pretty cheap there. I brought it home to frame another project.. Anyway, that didn’t end up working out and the frame didnt come with glass. I was going to take it back until i saw a pile off fabric in my craft area waiting to be cleaned up. So this is what i came up with at last minute. I am sure this must have been done before. It just must have.. its soo easy. ITS SUPER EASY!!! Any sloppy bumbler could do it.

Find some fun fabric that you love. Either from your giveaway clothes pile, or even some you bought at a farbic store. I also used yarn to add a bit of rustic detail. Cut the fabric into strips… whatever size. They don’t have to have finished edges or anything.. It can be cut really sloppy. I actually think that “look” works for this. I obviously didn’t consider what fabric to pair together, haha. I didn’t really care. I just used what I had around the house.
