SUPER RAD PHOTOSHOOT WITH 31 BITS

This past week was so much fun. Brian and I were in California for Catalyst west Coast. Brian did some interviewing backstage for Catalystbackstage.com. and one of the days I snuck off to do a photoshoot for the jewelry company called 31 bits. IT WAS SOO MUCH FUN! Each piece of the 31 bits jewelry is handmade by one of 63 women in Uganda, using 100% recycled paper and other local materials. 31 Bits is committed to working with each woman until she has graduated from their program and attained a sustainable means of income within her own community. They recently joined forces with Reef and supply beads for their sandals. AMAZING!!

The photoshoot was so professional, fun, and entertaining. The 31Bits girls have the KILLER team of creatives that are committed to the company. I think that is soo rad! The shoot was styled by Summer Watkins from GreyLikesWeddings.com. That girl is the real deal. She is a girl that knows what she wants and gets it done… ha ha my kinda girl. She is SUPER talented and she just KNOWS what looks good. It was such a blast working with her and getting to meet/know her. AND she’s funny too.

There is nothing I love more than being resourceful. Here is a simple necklace tutorial made out of thrifted finds. It is very fun and perfect for a little added funky flair. PLUS, it looks christmas-y right? You can make it with any color scheme by changing out the beads, and fabric. I did totally make this up… so no hating or judging.. haha. It’s just for fun. The items you will need are shown above: Strips of fabric, beads, yarn or string, and shower curtain rings. I displayed yarn AND string… but in this example I just chose to use the yarn.

Happy Holidays and Merry chirstmas. I have just updated the shop items in time for the holidays. There are some really fun remixes for this coming spring as well as a paper artwork series displayed below. I have had so much fun creating in this season of my life. Thinking, dreaming, planning, and creating the unimaginables. It has been a releasing time for me to be able to physically create what i love.

Sometimes i get sooo excited about ideas that i forget to eat, and everything. I just cant wait to see how it comes out. Its almost a thrill. haha. Brian tries to keep me in line though. hhaha. I have some fun plans for the future as well.
