I was very excited that the very talented Melissa JIll asked me to shoot her new promo photos for her website. ACTUALLY, I was honestly REALLY surprised that she asked me to do them, because I am by no means talented enough to photograph OTHER photographers. YIKES! As you know she has a Rock-star of a photography business going, and as I have put down my camera for a season I was anxious and nervous about shooting her. I imagined that she was cringing inside, while she watching me direct, position, and instruct her do silly/embarrassing things. But she insisted that I lead the charge on this photoshoot…. And it turned out to be SUPER fun… and very inspiring. I did find out that MELISSA WILL DO ANYTHING YOU TELL HER TO DO. HAHHAA. What a great model. I will definitely remember that in my next shoot with her. hahha jk… well maybe.

Hey Guys!! I have been wanting to share this process with you all for so very long. I was so excited when the girls with glasses contacted me with this idea. The video was so fun to shoot. and I really love those girls. This process is near and dear to my heart because I have repeated trial and error until I got a process that works well for me. It even includes a silly tooth brush, pan of water, and some patience.
Get Crafty With The Girls With Glasses from The Girls With Glasses on Vimeo.
I get quite a lot of comments asking how to do this…. And you all seem to have a really hard time with the results. I really hope that this video tutorial helps you understand how to do it. PLUS who doesn’t love The Girls With Glasses? So I hope it’s entertaining too. Check out how cute that little dog is. His name is Famous. And he’s a great model right?
Let me know your thoughts in the comment section. Have you tried this before? if you have and its worked… link the artwork into the comment section. We would love to see how it turned out.

I just wanted to share with you some really special maternity photos for Ryan and Danielle. They had their baby boy Kingston recently, and he is the CUTEST THING!! Ryan and Danielle are really special people with big faith and strong hearts. You may remember their story about loosing their first baby, Michaela. You can read my previous blog posts on them HERE. They have been through a lot in the past two years, and I am beyond thrilled for their exciting new gift and bright future ahead of them. We shot their maternity photos at the Hotel Valley Ho in Scottsdale, AZ.

I am also really excited to announce that the Hotel Valley Ho is a sponsor for this month as well. The first time I was there was for this photo shoot, and I FELL IN LOVE WITH THEIR HOTEL! I had driven by the hotel a few times and always wanted to go inside. So, of course, I was very excited to shoot there, finally. It is as gorgeous as their promo photos for it above (which I did not take, but they are breathtaking).
One of the most interesting things about the hotel isn’t just that is has a retro vibe, but it actually started in the 1950′s and has stayed true to its unique vibe since then with a re-open in 2005. The Hotel was the nicest for its time with black and white TVs in every room and frequent visits from the real deal old Hollywood celebrities like Humphrey Bogart, Ingrid Berman, Betty Davis, Marilyn Monroe and Betty Grable. Walking through the halls and around the pool I felt like I was in an old Hollywood dream. It made me want to go on vacation there and never come back. haha.
If you are ever in the area, you definitely have to stop by for a night to stay and take it all in.

OH MY GOODNESS. There is so much to say about these little faces. I have decided to to a couple of blog posts just briefly explaining our time and some of the projects that we worked on while we were in kenya Africa. Gosh, it’s so great to have a blog, where I can use it like a journal at times.

SOoo… My flight out of kenya was suppose to be last night at midnight… which is probably right now when you are all sleeping. hah. Kenya Airways oversold their flights and we were not able to board. After everything was rerouted we should arrive in california on sunday morning… the morning of my good friend’s wedding that i am in. YIKES. In order to be there in time for the wedding, all 5 connecting flights must be ontime. This will be a crazy next few days.
I was able to finish editing her bachelorette party on the plane going to Africa. Her party was off the hook at a KILLER location. It was the ACE hotel in Palm Springs. The set up was rockin and there were bikes that we took out for a lovely ride. I am not usually one to document an event as it happens. i usually prefer to have a set time for a shoot and be able to set it all up and everything.
But i thought this weekend shoot was bomb. So many fun moments and details to capture. I would love to do this again. Maybe even more bachelorette parties in my future. How fun would that be? hah. i loved the colors, the textures, the dry heat, wind and fun ladies to pal around with. I hope I get to make it to california in time to stand next to these girls to witness my life long friend make an amazing covennant with a wonderful man. Any thoughts on these images? Sorry I have so many photos. My visual stories tend to be to long. But its always fun to see extra photos right?

OH mY CUTENESSS this family is ROCKIN IT!! This is Candace Cameron Bure, Val Bure and their adorable family. Troy Grover and I got the opportunity to photograph them when I was in California for our photography weekend. This is down in Marina Del Ray down by the boats and shops. I loved all the bright colored little buildings, the wind in our hair, and the smell of the beachy- boat water.
I have NEVER shot a family with so much personality. I would say “make a serious face” and the kids would BUST OUT model-ish moves and STRIKE a pose. This family is far from camera shy. I am sure they have had tons of practice. They are SO fun, down to earth, and they are loving life. There was a huge seal swimming around the dock area and the kids were fixated on taking a photo with it. Haha. I wish it was possible. I hope we get the chance to hang with them again soon. Thanks so much for letting us peak into your lives for a few minutes. We had so much fun!! Be sure to check out Candace’s new show Make it or Break it. and also her website. And she just launched a new clothing line.

Our wedding was the most amazing day of our lives. We NEVER thought it would have been as glorious as it was. It was truly a dream wedding without the price tag. Our friends and family came around us with so much love and support. It was amazing. We have the greatest friends and family. This was the best wedding ever. haha. Brian and i seriously cried the whole morning after because we were so thankful and unworthy of love like this. I hope you enjoy this little snapshot of our special day. We would love comments from everyone on this post… and especially from those that were there.
